Wood Fires in Winter only

While many would disagree with me I think there should only be wood fires in late fall and the winter (mid October until the end of March). There are many reasons for this. As someone who has a two story house and no air conditioning by choice, my house is filled with smoke a lot in the summer from wood fires. I like to leave my windows open for fresh air, for a cooling breeze, etc. On hot muggy days and low pressure days the smoke does not dissipate and simply lingers over the neighborhood. For those with breathing difficulties, allergies, asthma (me) etc there is no escaping it. There is also no monitoring of what people are burning. There is also no monitoring of people having fires when there is a provincial fire ban on. As many people have never had wood stoves (I have) they have no idea how green wood, and improperly dried wood smokes and smolders. I think propane fired fire bowls are fine all year round but wood fires should only be allowed in winter. Thank you for looking into this issue and getting public input. Looking forward to having a wood fire before winter ends.
