I strongly encourage any municipality to ban outside fires all year around. Thought residents can easily contain fires on their properties with fire pits, no one can contain the smoke that they’re creating with their fires.

I’ve personally had to call the Fire Department several times for a problematic resident on our street who used to brag to his neighbors that he “likes to make fires like at Fundy Park.”. My home was 4 houses away from his and I had to call 911 because of burning embers flying over the houses on our street. A bylaw officer even paid a visit but these fires continued.
I’ve spoken to both Fire Chiefs in Dieppe and Moncton, and they’ve both told me off record that they’re against outdoor fires all year around.
The sad reality is everyone will claim to be respectful towards their neighbors, but will have an entitled melt down if you mention that their smoke is entering your home and your now forced by their act to close all windows.
